Additional Data Sources in Database Reports and ERIS Direct Searches

April 24, 2026

ERIS has added new Alberta‑specific datasets to our Database Reports and ERIS Direct searches, providing increased visibility into contaminated site management and remediation activity across the province.

These additions expand access to Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) reporting and support more informed, one-stop due diligence, risk assessment, and regulatory awareness for evaluating sites in Alberta.

What’s New

Pre‑2019 Remedial Action Plan

This dataset identifies sites with Pre‑2019 Remedial Action Plans (RAPs) submitted through the AER’s Pre‑2019 RAP tool. It highlights known contamination and planned remediation at sites where historical releases were later determined to pose potential environmental concerns.

Contamination information is limited to a general classification of extent (e.g., unknown, identified on site, or delineated on site) and does not include detailed characterization of contaminants. It captures cases where releases initially did not trigger reporting requirements but were later determined to have caused or may cause adverse environmental effects (e.g., exceedances of Tier 1 or Tier 2 soil and groundwater guideline concentrations). The dataset is static and reflects historical reporting prior to current remediation regulations. Moving forward, RAPs will be incorporated into Record of Site Condition submissions.

Record of Site Condition

This dataset includes sites that have submitted a Record of Site Condition (RoSC) to the AER. RoSCs summarize the current known environmental condition of a site based on professional assessments and help track environmental status over time. The information provides assurance to the AER and Albertans that contaminated sites are properly understood and managed.

Both datasets are available through the AER Map Viewer and are now searchable within our platform. The data is provided “as is.” The AER has not verified the information and makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees, express or implied, regarding its suitability for any use, including any intended use.
