Brownfields policy continues to stand out as one of the most impactful bipartisan environmental initiatives over the past four decades. Since the program’s inception in 1995, EPA’s Brownfields Program has provided nearly $2.9 billion in brownfield grants to assess and clean up contaminated properties, returning blighted properties to productive reuse.
